NEW EMR being implemented.
Webster City Medical Clinic is pleased to announce the implementation of an
electronic medical record system for our patients. This new technology
converts patient’s paper charts into an interactive billing, storage and
sharing electronic system, taking patient care to a new level of quality and
efficiency.
The new electronic medical records (EMR) system allows for instantaneous,
paperless access to patient records, facilitating quick and accurate
communication and collaboration between specialists, primary care physicians
and hospital facilities.
Nationally, health care experts agree that electronic medical records are
essential to improving health care. Using EMR, your Webster City Medical
Clinic caregiver has instant access to your complete medical
history-illnesses, conditions, treatments, allergies, medications, test
results, visits and referrals. All data is recorded by computer and can be
retrieved only by authorized caregivers to ensure you receive prompt, safe,
timely and confidential care based on the most current information available
in your medical file.
The new EMR system allows physicians to prescribe medications electronically
as well. Doctors can write prescriptions that are instantly sent
electronically to the pharmacy of the patient's choice. Local pharmacies
such as Hy-Vee and Thrifty White participate and the trend toward
e-prescribing is growing rapidly nationwide. Government regulators and
insurers also support the enhanced quality and safety of the system.
The entire process will take approximately 6 months to complete and will be
implemented late summer.
We appreciate you corporation and understanding during this transition
process.
