Darin Eklund, P.A.-C
Darin Eklund, P.A.-C. has been with Webster City Medical Clinic since 1998.
Born and raised in North Pole, Alaska. He completed his bachelor’s Degree in
Exercise and Sports Science from Oregon State University in 1995 and
obtained certification in Athletic Training that same year. In 1998 he
graduated from the University of Iowa with his Master Degree in Physician
Assistant Studies, and since then has been living and working here in
Webster City with his wife and family. He has played an active role in the
teaching of medical students from Des Moines University and has served as
clinical preceptor for University Of Iowa Physician Assistant students.
Darin has a strong background in all aspects of primary care medicine, but
takes special interest in Orthopedics as well as sports and work related
injuries.

1998 – Present: Physician Assistant – Webster City Medical Clinic
Webster City, IA – Independently providing patient care in all aspects of
family and internal medicine in clinic, emergency room, and hospital
inpatient settings. Administer Stress Testing and Breath Methane testing as
well as assist in coordination and care with Intense Pulsed Light cosmetic
treatments. Frequent host of weekly call-in medical show on local radio
(“Dr. Dialogue”).

1994 Athletic Training Intern – Sports medicine Fairbanks (Fairbanks, AK).
Involved in all aspects of patient rehabilitation, including: application of
therapeutic modalities, coordination of exercise and stretching programs,
isokinetic strength testing.
1993-95 Student Athletic Trainer – Oregon State University (Corvallis, OR).
Involved in all aspects of medical care of athletes, including emergency
care at practices and events; prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of
injuries; coordination of medical care for team while traveling; lectured
and peer tutored for Directed Observers in the Athletic Training education
program.
1992-93 Assistant Athletic Trainer – Alaska Goldpanners (Fairbanks, AK).
Summer position involving evaluation, rehabilitation and referral of
injuries or illness, and coordination of medical care while traveling.
1990-92 Student Athletic Trainer – University of Alaska – Fairbanks
(Fairbanks, AK). Developed a chart review system to increase staff
communication and improve continuity of care. Participated in all aspects of
medical care of athletes.
